Axi Review: Does Axi Select Beat Another MT4 ECN Account?
Axi pairs a familiar raw spread MT4 setup with Axi Select, a free funded programme that hands qualifying traders up to a million dollars of its own capital. We tested the Pro account's real cost and checked whether Select changes the pitch.
Best for: MT4 traders who want a shot at trading Axi's own capital through Axi Select without an upfront challenge fee
Axi's Pro account prices fairly against other MT4 ECN brokers once its $7 commission is counted, and Axi Select is a genuine standalone reason to open an account even for a trader who never funds it beyond the $500 Seed stage. The Standard account is the weak link: 1.45 pips on EUR/USD with no commission is not competitive when Pro exists one click away, so anyone signing up should skip Standard entirely and start on Pro or go straight into Select.

Axi has sold the same core pitch since 2007: MetaTrader, an ECN-style spread and a broker that stays out of the way. What changed the conversation is Axi Select, a free funded programme that hands qualifying traders up to a million dollars of the firm's own money. We opened a Pro account, tracked its spread against the Standard tier, and worked through Select's six stages to see whether the funding angle is real or just a marketing wrapper.
Pro costs less than the name suggests
Axi runs three live account types, and the gap between them is wider than most brokers admit. Standard quotes 1.45 pips on EUR/USD with no commission, a number that reads fine until you notice Pro sits one click away. Pro tightens that spread to 0.43 pips and charges $7 per round-turn lot, landing near 0.6 pips all-in once both legs are counted. That is a fair price against dedicated raw spread shops, close enough to IC Markets and Pepperstone's Razor-style tiers that the difference stops mattering for anyone below serious scalping volume. There is also an Elite tier above Pro, built as a volume rebate ladder for high-turnover accounts rather than a beginner option.

Neither account carries a minimum deposit requirement, though Axi recommends $200 to start with something workable after a few losing trades. A trader opening Standard purely because it looks free on paper is making the wrong call: the spread difference eats any saved commission within the first few lots.
Axi Select is the actual story
Most brokers that claim a "funded" programme are reselling a third-party prop firm's challenge. Axi built its own, and Select works differently: no upfront fee, no pass-or-fail evaluation window, just six stages a trader climbs by depositing more of their own capital and hitting an internal performance metric called Edge Score. Seed requires $500 of equity and pays no profit share, capped at $5,000 of Axi's funding. Climb to Pro M and the numbers change completely: $20,000 of a trader's own money, a 90 Edge Score, and access to $1,000,000 in funded capital at an 80 percent profit share. Payouts land monthly on the first of the month rather than on request.
